VENEERS

Dental veneers are used to cosmetically enhance the appearance of one or more teeth. Veneers are very thin, porcelain or resin shells that are customized for a desirable color and shape. They are bonded to the surface of the teeth to reshape broken, misshapen or irregular teeth, as well as provide a solution for discolored teeth that do not respond to traditional whitening treatments. Patients with veneers typically achieve a natural tooth appearance that is well-tolerated by the gums and also resistant to future stains.

BONDING

Dental bonding is the use of white, tooth-colored composite filling material to fill, repair, or making minor aesthetic improvements to a tooth. If you have a chipped or broken tooth or would like to change the shape or size of your teeth, our bonding treatment can help! Using a tooth-colored resin applied directly to the surface of your dental enamel, Drs. Mehta and Redgrift are able to reshape your tooth to your exact desired specifications. The damage to your tooth will disappear in just one appointment!

Teeth naturally darken with age, however staining may be caused by various foods and beverages such as coffee, tea and berries, some drugs such as tetracycline, smoking, or a trauma to a tooth. There are various teeth whitening options available, including at-home bleaching. Almost everyone is a candidate for teeth whitening or teeth bleaching. However, some dark teeth are much more resistant to whitening procedures. Teeth that are discolored with dark gray or reddish shades are the most resistant to teeth whitening; an example of this type of dark shade appears in teeth affected by tetracycline. Still, even these dark teeth will whiten to some degree with long-term care. Depending on the results you desire, whitening may be an option for dark (gray/red) teeth. Otherwise, porcelain veneers are an excellent option, allowing you to choose how white your smile will be.
